Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. A new electric train has been launched between Tashkent and Bekabad. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev personally rode the train from the capital to Bekabad and inspected the work carried out on the route.

The route length is 192 kilometers. It is expected to carry about a thousand passengers per day and 300,000 per year. The train consists of six carriages with a capacity of 586 people and can reach speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour.

Inside, air conditioning, heating systems, soft seats, Wi-Fi, USB ports, electronic displays, and video cameras are installed. Lifts for people with disabilities and bicycle racks are also provided.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan would purchase ten modern Škoda electric trains for suburban services.
