In the second quarter of 2026 (April-June), Uzbekistan recorded 1,548 violations related to dumping waste in unauthorized locations, according to the Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development.

Of these, 354 violations were committed by vehicles and 1,194 by individuals. Administrative protocols were drawn up against the offenders, and appropriate measures are being taken. The share of those fined stood at 16.9%.

The agency reported that the total amount of fines imposed for violations detected by surveillance cameras reached 123.394 million Uzbek soums.

Currently, over 700 online surveillance cameras have been installed across almost all regions of the country. These cameras are used not only to detect illegal waste dumping but also other types of environmental violations.

Dumping solid household waste, construction waste, or pouring liquid household waste in unauthorized places results in fines for citizens ranging from 1 to 3 times the base calculation value (from 412,000 to 1.236 million soums), and for officials from 10 to 20 times (from 4.12 million to 8.24 million soums).

If the same violation is repeated within a year after administrative penalty, citizens face fines from 5 to 10 times the base value (2.06 million to 4.12 million soums), and officials from 20 to 30 times (8.24 million to 12.36 million soums).

It is worth recalling that in January-March, online cameras detected 2,107 cases of illegal waste dumping in Uzbekistan.
