The Ecological Party of Uzbekistan has proposed revising the approach to arranging public transport stops in Tashkent and launching a pilot project of 'green stops' to make waiting for buses more comfortable in summer heat.

According to the party, the capital has been actively developing a system of dedicated bus lanes (BRT) in recent years, which has accelerated public transport and partially reduced congestion. However, environmentalists believe that transport infrastructure development should be accompanied by creating comfortable conditions for passengers.

This summer, the problem became especially noticeable. Many new stops lack shade and sun protection, causing dissatisfaction among residents. In the heat, this is a serious challenge for the elderly, children, and people with weak health.

'Public transport infrastructure should be not only fast but also comfortable for people,' the party emphasized.

As a solution, they propose launching a pilot project of 'green stops'. The first stage involves 10–20 locations where modern and eco-friendly solutions can be tested.

These include sun canopies, solar panels, energy-efficient lighting, drought-resistant plants, and structures with natural ventilation. The possibility of installing bike racks and rainwater collection systems is also being considered.

Such stops are expected not only to increase passenger comfort but also to help reduce dust levels, increase green areas, and improve the overall environmental situation in the city.

The Ecological Party called on city authorities to review new stops, consider residents' opinions, and actively implement modern environmental solutions.

Earlier, the first public transport stop with workout elements appeared in Tashkent. The unusual stop complex was installed near the car market in Sergeli.
