Uzbekistan's President, speaking at a videoconference meeting analyzing economic growth rates in regions and sectors, stated that the country needs to achieve economic growth of 9-10% to improve the living standards of nearly 40 million residents.

The head of state noted that despite high economic development rates, current indicators are insufficient to further raise the population's well-being. He emphasized that in a rapidly changing global situation, every leader must seek new reserves, develop additional development scenarios, and not limit themselves to reports on work done.

The meeting included a critical analysis of the implementation of semi-annual plans by ministries and regions. The President pointed out that in some areas, the potential for growth in gross regional product, construction, and investment attraction had not been fully realized.

He also stressed that the work of leaders should be evaluated based on real changes in people's lives and business conditions, not just statistical indicators. If the activities of ministries and local administrations do not improve the quality of life for the population or ease the work of entrepreneurs, such results remain merely 'numbers on paper.'

In conclusion, the President stated that under current conditions, 'no minister, governor, or industry leader who fails to meet monthly, quarterly, or annual plans has the right to work calmly.'
