A tragic incident occurred on July 21 at 14:07 in the Yuqori Bo‘zsuv canal flowing through the Yunusobod district of Tashkent. According to the capital's Emergency Department, a citizen entered the water for swimming and drowned due to negligence.
Rescue services and divers were promptly dispatched to the scene. Following search operations, the victim's body was recovered at 18:35 approximately 100 meters from the drowning site and handed over to relevant authorities.
Earlier, in the Jizzakh region, three girls aged 14, 16, and 17 drowned while swimming in an artificial reservoir on a farm, used for drip irrigation. The prosecutor's office is conducting a pre-investigation check into the incident.
