Uzbekistan has established a state institution called the National Operator of Cultural Projects, which will organize major international and national events and promote local culture abroad. The corresponding decree was signed by the president.

The new operator is formed on the basis of the Directorate of International Festivals under the Ministry of Culture and will operate under the Culture and Arts Development Foundation, retaining current funding.

The operator will receive significant benefits, including free provision of public order, medical assistance, and traffic patrol services during events.

Until January 1, 2030, the operator is exempt from customs duties on a wide range of equipment, including stage equipment, musical instruments, props, advertising materials, LED screens, and other necessary means. The import and use of drones and LED screens for technical support of large-scale events are also officially permitted.

A separate decision concerns the international music festival "Sharq Taronalari": starting next year, it will be held once every two years.

Earlier, the president was presented with a program of international cultural projects, according to which Uzbekistan will showcase archaeological finds, works of art, and national crafts at major global venues in the coming years — from museums in Europe and Asia to New York's Carnegie Hall.
