Uzbekistan's digital ecosystem Uzum has been recognized as one of the world's leading fintech companies in the 'Neobanking' category, according to the prestigious ranking compiled by CNBC and Statista.
The ranking is considered one of the most authoritative international studies of the fintech industry, aiming to highlight companies that are shaping the future of financial services through technology, innovation, and scalable digital solutions. The 'Neobanking' category brings together next-generation digital financial services that provide banking and near-banking services primarily online, without traditional branch networks.
Uzum's inclusion in the list reflects the growing trust of millions of users in the company's digital financial solutions. More and more residents of Uzbekistan are choosing digital services for everyday payments, purchases, personal finance management, and banking services.
'For us, this recognition is primarily confirmation that the ecosystem approach is indeed changing the habits of millions of people. We are creating a unique seamless user experience: services for solving a wide range of everyday tasks—from ordering groceries to paying for goods and services—are combined into a single ecosystem,' said Jasur Djumaev, CEO and founder of the Uzum ecosystem.
In compiling the study, Statista uses a comprehensive evaluation methodology. In addition to general business performance indicators, specialized industry KPIs are applied for each category, reflecting the specifics of a particular market segment. This approach allows comparing companies on the most relevant metrics for their direction and assessing not only business scale but also efficiency, development dynamics, and digital maturity.
