In the Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan, the director of a preschool educational institution is suspected of demanding a bribe in exchange for signing documents confirming the delivery of food products, according to the Internal Affairs Department.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the director of a state kindergarten promised to sign and stamp 10-day reports on food supplies delivered by the company 'Toshmurodov Oydin' to her own and another kindergarten.

For this, she demanded a bribe of 7 million Uzbek soums (about $700) per kindergarten, totaling 14 million soums (approximately $1,400). The suspect was apprehended with material evidence while receiving the money in the district.

A criminal case has been opened against the suspect and other individuals under Article 210, Part 2, clauses 'v' and 'g' of the Criminal Code (extortion of a bribe by a group of officials by prior conspiracy). Investigative actions are currently underway.
