According to the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan, 92,300 marriages and 24,800 divorces were registered in the country during January-June 2026. Compared to the same period last year, the number of marriages decreased by 3,000, while divorces increased by 1,500.

The marriage rate stood at 4.9 per 1,000 population. Of the total marriages, 47,200 (51.1%) were in urban areas and 45,100 (48.9%) in rural areas.

The divorce rate was 1.3 per 1,000 population. Urban areas accounted for 14,900 divorces (60.1%), while rural areas recorded 9,900 divorces (39.9%).

In 2025, Uzbekistan registered 267,100 marriages, down by 4,700 from 2024, and 46,900 divorces, up by 1,800 from the previous year. Experts suggest that economic and social factors may be driving the trend.
