According to the press service of the Tashkent city administration, representatives of the administrations of Tashkent and its districts, as well as business community members, visited Afghanistan as part of a government delegation on a working trip.

One of the main goals of the visit was to significantly increase the volume of foreign trade turnover between Uzbekistan, particularly Tashkent, and Afghanistan. The visit also aimed to expand exports in sectors such as food, electrical engineering, textiles, construction materials, pharmaceuticals, automotive, chemicals, and other industries, as well as to attract investments in these areas.

On July 25, the Tashkent delegation participated in negotiations held in the provinces of Bamyan and Herat. During the meetings, issues of establishing trading houses in these regions and purchasing agricultural products to ensure price stability and food security in Tashkent's markets were discussed.

The negotiations resulted in “mutually beneficial and promising agreements,” the administration added. Earlier, a meeting was held in Kabul between Uzbekistan's Transport Minister Ilkhom Makhkamov and Afghanistan's Minister of Transport and Aviation Muhammad Fazil Mazlum, where they discussed reducing fees charged to cargo carriers from Uzbekistan and Afghanistan and setting them on the basis of reciprocity.
