Uzbekistan has been awarded the hosting rights for the 2027 AFC U-17 Asian Cup. The decision was made by the Executive Committee of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

The next tournament in this age category will be held in Saudi Arabia in 2029. Additionally, the AFC Executive Committee also designated hosts for other major competitions.

Japan will host the 2028 AFC U-23 Asian Cup. This tournament will serve as part of the qualification for Asian teams for the Los Angeles Olympic Games.

The AFC also approved changes to the format of several competitions. Specifically, starting from the 2026/2027 season, the AFC Champions League will be expanded to 32 participants. Changes will also affect the qualification system for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup.

Earlier, FIFA announced the results of the vote for the best goal of the 2026 World Cup. Uzbekistan national team captain Eldor Shomurodov took second place.
