A court in Tashkent has fined Solikhjon Ibragimov 60 times the base calculation value (24.72 million soums, about $2,000) and ordered the confiscation of his iPhone 15 Pro Max for posting a video on Instagram that promoted violence.

According to court documents, Ibragimov shared a training video on his Instagram account with the caption: “I train so that my wife can only receive clear blows in the future.” Irina Matviyenko, head of the anti-violence project Nemolchi.uz, reported the post to law enforcement, requesting legal action.

During the court hearing, Ibragimov pleaded guilty, expressed remorse, and asked for leniency.

The court found him guilty under Article 189-1 of the Code of Administrative Liability (production, import, distribution, advertising, or demonstration of products promoting a cult of oppression, violence, or cruelty). The sentence took into account his remorse and other circumstances.

In addition to the fine, the court ordered the confiscation of Ibragimov’s iPhone 15 Pro Max, which was used to post the video. The case highlights Uzbekistan’s efforts to combat online content that glorifies domestic violence.
