Tashkent football club Bunyodkor has fallen into a severe financial crisis and sent a letter to the Professional Football League stating its inability to travel to Navoi region for the Super League Round 15 match against Qizilqum scheduled for August 2.

The decision was due to a complete lack of funds to purchase travel tickets, hotel accommodation, and meals for the delegation. According to tournament regulations, the club will be awarded a technical defeat. If the situation repeats, the league's executive committee will consider expelling Bunyodkor from the Super League.

Club General Director Murod Aliyev confirmed the team's critical condition. He stated that in the first quarter, Bunyodkor received 10 billion soums and independently earned about 11 billion soums from rentals and contracts, but these funds were insufficient to cover all expenses.

Players and club staff have not received salaries for 6-7 months. The situation is exacerbated by a debt to Brazilian player Rivaldo for 3 years, costing the club 26 billion soums annually. The management is seeking a way out and intends to appeal to the president. After 14 rounds of the current season, Bunyodkor ranks 10th in the standings with 19 points.

Earlier, Bunyodkor fans displayed a banner reading 'Aliyev Out' during a match, demanding the resignation of General Director Murod Aliyev. The protest was a result of prolonged financial and organizational problems that the team has faced for several years.
