An Uzbek migrant worker in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, has been detained by police during a raid after a rug bearing the Russian tricolor was found in her apartment. The incident has sparked a criminal case under the article 'Desecration of the State Flag,' according to RIA Novosti.

The press service of Uzbekistan's Migration Agency announced that it has arranged a flight ticket for the woman's return to Uzbekistan at the expense of the Migration Fund. Her return is scheduled for August 6.

In a video message, the woman expressed gratitude: 'Thank you to the Migration Agency, thank you to our president. I came to Nizhny Novgorod and faced hardships; they bought me a ticket. May Allah be pleased with such people. The ticket is in my hands.'

The Migration Agency added that it is working with the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan and Russian authorities to clarify all details of the incident. Diplomats are in contact with the woman and providing consular legal assistance.

The case highlights the challenges faced by Central Asian migrants in Russia, where strict laws on state symbols can lead to severe consequences. The woman's swift repatriation underscores the efforts of Uzbek authorities to protect their citizens abroad.
