Residents of Uzbekistan spent 11.3 trillion soums on healthcare services in the first half of 2026, according to the National Statistics Committee. This marks a 16.8% increase compared to the same period last year.

The largest share of spending went to other healthcare services (53.7%), followed by hospital services (31.8%) and medical/dental services (14.5%).

Tashkent led the way with 5.2 trillion soums in healthcare spending, accounting for nearly half of the national total. The Tashkent region came second with 1.1 trillion soums.

Samarkand region saw 830.2 billion soums in healthcare expenditures, followed by Fergana (675.4 billion), Namangan (550.4 billion), and Andijan (507.2 billion).

Other regions reported lower figures: Bukhara (392.3 billion), Khorezm (390.9 billion), Kashkadarya (360.4 billion), Karakalpakstan (335.5 billion), Surkhandarya (262 billion), Jizzakh (251.5 billion), Syrdarya (203.2 billion), and Navoi (193.1 billion).

The data highlights a significant regional disparity, with the capital dominating healthcare spending, raising questions about equitable access to medical services across the country.
