Archaeologists have discovered remnants of walls dating from the 3rd century BC to the 10th century AD at the ancient settlement of Kubbo in the Fergana region of Uzbekistan.

The excavations were carried out by researchers from Fergana State University and the Luoyang Institute of Archaeology in China.

This joint project is being implemented under the “Fergana-Shanxi Center for Archaeological Research,” established at Fergana State University.

According to the university, the find is of great significance as a unique material testament to cultural exchange between East and West along the historic Great Silk Road.
