Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz. The Cultural Heritage Agency has issued an official comment regarding information circulated on social media about the condition of the historical site 'Chodra Hovli', located in the Khiva district of the Khorezm region.

The agency reported that extensive restoration work was carried out at the site in 2022–2023 to preserve its historical and architectural appearance. The project was implemented by the Khiva Regional Restoration Center on the order of the Cultural Heritage Agency, funded from the state budget.

During the restoration, specialists repaired and reinforced the aivans and staircases, covered the exterior walls with adobe plaster and the interior walls with ganch. The work involved a maximum rejection of modern construction solutions and strict adherence to traditional architectural style. Additionally, the site's territory was improved, with pathways laid and a night lighting system installed.

The site is currently under state protection, and plans are in place to continue developing tourist infrastructure around it. The historical complex was built in 1871 as a summer residence for the Khiva khans. The name 'Chodra' derives from the Persian word 'chordara', where 'chor' means four and 'dara' means steep depth.
