On August 10, the first Etihad Airways flight on the Abu Dhabi – Tashkent route was welcomed at Tashkent International Airport, according to the press service of Uzbekistan Airports.
The Airbus A320 aircraft landed at the capital's airport at 02:05. Following aviation tradition, the aircraft was greeted with a water salute, while passengers and crew were presented with national sweets and flowers.
A festive ceremony took place in the arrivals area of the capital's airport, attended by representatives of Etihad Airways, Uzbekistan Airports, and the UAE Embassy in Uzbekistan.
The press service of Uzbekistan Airports noted that Etihad Airways' entry into the Uzbek market is a significant event for the development of the country's international air traffic. The arrival of such a partner in Tashkent opens new opportunities for passengers and strengthens Uzbekistan's position on the international aviation map.
Daily direct flights to Abu Dhabi will not only boost business and tourism ties between the two countries but also provide passengers with convenient options for onward travel through one of the region's largest aviation hubs.
Flights will operate daily on Airbus A320 aircraft.
