On August 11, a closed court session of the Shaykhantakhur District Criminal Court concluded with the reading of a verdict in the criminal case against Aziz Hakimov. This was reported by the courts of Tashkent city.

Due to the absence of elements of a crime under Article 150 of the Criminal Code (Propaganda of War) in the defendant's actions, he was acquitted under paragraph 2 of Article 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Grounds for Rehabilitation).

Aziz Hakimov was found guilty of committing crimes under Part 2 of Article 139 (Defamation), Part 2 of Article 140 (Insult), and Part 2 of Article 156 (Incitement of National, Racial, Ethnic, or Religious Hatred) of the Criminal Code.

By partially combining the imposed sentences in accordance with Articles 59 and 61 of the Criminal Code, a final sentence of 4 years and 2 months of imprisonment was imposed.

The term of imprisonment is set to be calculated from September 26, 2025.

Additionally, the court ordered the Ministry of Digital Technologies to block the Telegram channel “Comrade_Aziz” operated by the defendant.

Earlier, in August 2025, Aziz Hakimov was found guilty under Article 202−2 of the Code of Administrative Liability (Dissemination of False Information) based on a complaint from the rector of the University of Journalism, Sherzodkhon Kudratkhodja.

One of the victims, blogger Nikita Makarenko, claimed that Hakimov had been publishing materials glorifying the Uzbek SSR and undermining the value of Uzbekistan's independence.

“He has been actively publishing materials that promote the war in Ukraine and call on our citizens to enlist in foreign armed forces. I hope that the relevant authorities will also initiate appropriate proceedings on these violations,” Makarenko wrote.
