In the Nurata district of Uzbekistan's Navoi region, authorities have uncovered an illegal operation involving the cutting of wild ferula plants and the collection of their sap. The raid, conducted by the Ecopolice of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, took place in the territory of the 'Kizilcha' neighborhood.

According to official reports, two local residents, along with hired workers under the leadership of a citizen from the Surkhandarya region, were involved in the illicit activity. During the inspection, law enforcement officers seized electronic scales and nine sharp knives used for cutting the plants and collecting sap.

Additionally, more than two kilograms of sap mixed with sand and 220 grams of pure sap were discovered at the scene. All confiscated items and substances have been officially registered as material evidence.

Environmental experts have calculated the damage caused to nature at 3 billion 90 million UZS, highlighting the significant ecological and economic impact of the illegal harvesting.

The case materials have been forwarded for legal assessment and further action in accordance with the law. It is worth recalling that previously, a resident of Kashkadarya took a large sum of money from an Afghan citizen, promising to buy Tajik ferula resin, but the goods were never delivered.
