On August 12, a fire broke out in the territory of the 'Khomon' forestry unit, part of the 'Boysun State Forestry' in the 'Chilonzor' makhalla of Boysun district, Surxondaryo region. This was reported by the regional emergency management department.
According to reports, at 17:15 a call was received via the 112 system. The flames primarily engulfed dry grass and branches. The fire spread quickly, posing a threat to the surrounding forest area.
In response, forces and resources from the regional emergency department and the forestry were dispatched to the scene. A total of 309 people and 11 pieces of special equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. Specifically, 194 personnel and 8 vehicles from the emergency department, 60 employees and 3 vehicles from the forestry, as well as 55 local volunteers participated.
After a day, on August 13 at 17:30, the fire was completely extinguished. As a result, approximately 1 hectare of dry grass and branches was burned. This has caused significant damage to the forestry and local ecosystem.
No injuries among citizens were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The emergency department urged residents to adhere to fire safety rules and remain vigilant.
