On August 15-16, the Humo Arena in Tashkent hosted the Comic Con Tashkent 2026 geek culture festival. The event brought together fans of movies, TV series, video games, comics, anime, and cosplay. Over the two days, more than 15,000 people attended, including guests from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and other countries.

Special guests of the festival included American actor Shawn Fonteno, the voice and prototype of Franklin Clinton, one of the three main protagonists of Grand Theft Auto V; Randy Havens, who played Mr. Clarke in the series 'Stranger Things'; Kristian Nairn, known for his role as Hodor in 'Game of Thrones'; and the creators of the animated series Metal Family, Alina Kovalyova and Dmitry Vdovenko. They held meet-and-greets, autograph sessions, and photo opportunities with fans.

The festival program also featured an Artists' Alley, where 50 artists, designers, and creative brands showcased their work this year. A separate hall housed the Game Con area, offering visitors various games and activities.

One of the central events was the cosplay contest with a prize fund of 20 million soums. The jury included famous Kazakhstani cosplayers Lara Nix (Lara Sergiyenko) and Mari Miyako (Marina Kuzmenko), as well as Uzbek cosplayer MR.EVIL, one of the winners of Comic Con Tashkent 2024 and 2025.

Participants in the cosplay contest showcased characters from video games, anime, comics, films, and TV series. The festival's atmosphere was a true celebration for geek culture enthusiasts.
