In the Kattakurgan district of Samarkand region, a three-year-old child is said to have been subjected to violence while under the care of a nanny. The child is currently in serious condition in the intensive care unit, as reported by Kun.uz.
It is noted that the child's mother had been leaving her child in the care of a nanny for about two months while she worked. The family is originally from the Narpay district. The child's father works abroad, and the mother, due to family disagreements, left her home in Narpay and, leaving her child with a nanny in Kattakurgan, worked as a dishwasher in a cafe.
Videos provided to the publication show severe injuries resembling burns and bruises on the child's body. Cruel treatment of the child is also visible. Neighbors who learned of the incident contacted the internal affairs authorities. After that, the child was taken to the hospital.
According to one of the child's relatives, after the incident, they repeatedly contacted law enforcement agencies. However, according to him, no medical examination was ordered.
“There is no healthy place on the body of a 3-year-old child. His hands were tied with wire, and the wounds from the wire had even festered. He was seated on a hot electric stove, his back is very deeply and severely burned. How can a person do this?..”, he said.
The press service of the Children's Ombudsman, in response to a request from Gazeta, said it had taken the situation under control, and a regional representative for Samarkand region is currently investigating the circumstances.
In connection with this incident, the investigative department of the Kattakurgan district Department of Internal Affairs has opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 110 (Torture) of the Criminal Code. A 43-year-old woman, O.Yo., has been brought in as a suspect. Initial investigative actions are currently underway.
The Children's Ombudsman said it would continue to monitor the protection of the legal interests of the injured child during the criminal proceedings.
