Uzbekistan resumed gold exports in July after a pause, supplying precious metal worth $1.3 billion. This is according to preliminary data from the State Statistics Committee.

In January-July, the foreign trade turnover increased by 8.1% compared to the same period last year, reaching $49.5 billion. Exports decreased by 3.6% to $19.9 billion, while imports grew by 17.8% to $29.6 billion.

The negative trade balance for seven months amounted to nearly $9.7 billion. At the same time, exports of goods excluding gold reached $9.8 billion — 27.7% more than a year earlier.

In January-July, textile exports amounted to $1.9 billion. Textiles accounted for 9.5% of total exports, with deliveries increasing by 26.6% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.

In July, Uzbekistan exported gold worth $1.3 billion. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of its deliveries has exceeded $2.8 billion. The share of precious metal in exports decreased almost threefold to 14.1%. In the same period last year, gold accounted for 36.7% of exports, with deliveries reaching $7.6 billion (by $4.8 billion or 2.7 times more).

At the same time, the share of other export components increased: services accounted for 36.8% of the total volume (compared to 26.2% a year earlier), industrial goods — 14.4% (compared to 11.3%), various finished products — 8.4% (compared to 4.3%).

In 2026, gold exports were recorded only twice — in April and July. Prior to that, Uzbekistan last exported gold in September 2025, worth approximately $1.5 billion.
