A man who saved a 4-5-year-old child from drowning has been awarded a letter of gratitude by the Emergency Situations Department (ESD) of Tashkent. Thanks to his quick reaction and first aid, the child's life was saved.
The video of the incident had previously spread on social media. The footage shows the man pulling an unconscious child from the water and immediately starting to administer first aid.
It was later revealed that the rescuer was nearby completely by chance. He had come to the location with a team to shoot a commercial. Seeing the drowning child, he did not hesitate and rushed to help.
The ESD noted that in an emergency, every second counts. According to the department's representatives, a person's willingness to not stand aside and help can be decisive in saving a life.
The man himself was modest about his deed and urged residents of the capital to be more attentive and responsible.
He also addressed parents with an important reminder: young children should not be left unattended even for a short time, and swimming in unapproved and prohibited places can end in tragedy.
Currently, the child's life is not in danger.
