During negotiations, Uzbek exporters presented the country's export potential, as well as samples of locally produced raisins and dried apricots that have already been approved for import into the United States. The meeting aimed to boost Uzbekistan's agricultural exports.
Costco representatives highly praised the quality and appearance of Uzbek raisins and expressed readiness to consider selling them in the retail chain's stores. This could open significant opportunities for Uzbek dried fruit producers.
The talks also covered potential supplies of pistachios, walnuts, almonds, blueberries, cherries, grapes, pomegranates, and other fresh and dried fruits from Uzbekistan. The range of products that could be in demand in the US market is quite diverse.
Costco Wholesale operates a network of warehouse stores and is considered one of the largest retailers in the American market. Entering its retail platforms could significantly expand the presence of Uzbek products in the US, potentially boosting the country's export revenues and strengthening its position in the global market.
