Tashkent authorities have launched large-scale asphalt paving works on Glinka Street in the Yakkasaray district, where a gas explosion destroyed the roadway on September 3.
The repair progress was personally inspected by Deputy Mayor of Tashkent Obid Muminov, Yakkasaray district governor Nilufar Allabergenova, and district police department head Alisher Murodov.
Officials checked compliance with technological standards, the quality of the road surface being used, and traffic safety measures. Those responsible were instructed to complete the asphalt work as quickly as possible to fully restore traffic flow and eliminate all inconveniences caused to residents.
The accident occurred in the afternoon of September 3, reportedly due to a leak from an underground gas pipeline. Gas seeped and accumulated in a heating network chamber, leading to a powerful blast that instantly tore up the asphalt.
As a result, one person sustained minor injuries, and parked cars were damaged. A criminal case has been opened in connection with the incident.
