The team of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan took first place at the III International Sniper Competition held in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. In the final standings, the Uzbek servicemen scored 678.4 points, surpassing the teams from Vietnam and Turkey.

The competition took place from September 3 to 10 and was organized by the Special Operations Forces Command of the Republic of Korea Army. For the Uzbek team, this was the third participation in the tournament. This year, 28 sniper teams from eight countries attended, including South Korea, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, the UAE, Turkey, Cambodia, and Kazakhstan.

The program consisted of 20 tactical and shooting stages, conducted day and night in urban, mountainous, and wooded terrain. Participants used pistols, assault rifles, and sniper weapons, hitting targets at various distances. The organizers prepared many surprises: no special shooting exercise repeated last year's tasks. Moreover, the conditions of each stage became known immediately before it began.

Moving and flying targets were a separate challenge. Drones made up 40% of all targets, so participants had to react quickly to the changing situation and work under high tension. As a result, the Uzbek team scored 678.4 points and became first among 13 foreign teams. Vietnam took second place with 666.6 points, and Turkey third with 471.1 points.

For the Uzbek team, this victory was the second in a row. In 2024, it took second place, and in 2025, it won the international competition for the first time.
