The Uzbekistan State Circus in Tashkent is set to be transformed from a traditional performance venue into a modern cultural and tourist space. Plans include upgrading infrastructure, creating new areas for exhibitions and events, attracting business, and making the site convenient and appealing for tourists.

Following a June meeting with cultural figures, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed that the sector be elevated to a new level. Subsequently, a decree on the development of art and literature was adopted, and a creative association for circus art and street performances was established.

The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davron Vahabov, together with members of the Public Council, visited the Uzbekistan State Circus. Participants inspected the condition of the building, its infrastructure, and opportunities for further development.

One proposal is to create a permanent exhibition and cultural-entertainment venue with 2,500 seats. The area around the circus is also planned to be landscaped, infrastructure improved, and a more comfortable environment created for tourists.

Special attention will be paid to the building itself. Plans include installing modern ventilation and heating systems, as well as resolving the issue of rainwater leaking through the roof.

This is not just about repairs. For the comprehensive development of the circus, a technical and economic business plan is to be prepared, with foreign consulting companies from Russia, China, and France invited to participate.

All changes and repair work will be carried out in compliance with cultural heritage preservation requirements. Projects must be coordinated with the Agency for Cultural Heritage.

In addition, the authorities plan to revise the system of material incentives, pay, and working conditions for artists and staff so that they feel real support and motivation to work.
