A fire broke out on the roof of the main building of Karshi State Technical University in Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya region, according to a report received by the regional Emergency Situations Department at 14:53 on September 14.

Fire and rescue teams arriving at the scene managed to extinguish the blaze by 15:57. Several units were involved in the operation.

According to preliminary information, there were no casualties or injuries. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are currently being established.

The fire occurred on the roof of the university’s main building, an area where flames can spread rapidly. However, thanks to the prompt actions of rescuers, the fire was brought under control within a short time.

No official conclusion on the cause of the fire has been released yet. The regional Emergency Situations Department is conducting an investigation into the incident.
