A fire broke out on the roof of the main building of Qarshi State Technical University in the city of Qarshi, Uzbekistan. The emergency services received the alarm on Monday, September 14, at 2:53 p.m. local time.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire started in the roof section of the building. Rescue units from the Qashqadaryo regional department promptly arrived at the scene and began firefighting operations. The fire was completely extinguished by 3:57 p.m., meaning it took just over an hour from the initial report to fully put out the flames.

No information about casualties has been reported. The causes of the fire and other circumstances are not yet disclosed. An investigation is underway.

Earlier, a fire broke out in New Tashkent when construction materials caught fire on the upper part of a building under construction. Fire crews quickly arrived and fully extinguished the blaze; no one was injured.
