Uzbekistan's U23 football team kicked off their 2026 Asian Games campaign with a dominant 5-1 victory over the Philippines in the first round of the group stage.

Muhammad Urinboev opened the scoring in the 30th minute. The Uzbeks did not add to their tally before halftime, but they asserted their dominance in the second half.

Saidumarxon Saidnurullaev found the net in the 60th minute and completed his brace 11 minutes later. Two minutes after that, Ruziboy Fayzullaev made it 4-0.

Muhammadali Reymov sealed the win with a goal in the 80th minute. The victory gives Ravshan Haydarov's side a strong start in Group C.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan U23 would face the Philippines, Kuwait, and Vietnam in the group stage of the Asian Games.
