As part of his state visit to the Republic of Korea, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with compatriots working and studying in the country. According to the presidential press service, the candid conversation in an informal setting covered the reforms underway in Uzbekistan and the contribution of compatriots to their active implementation.
Participants of the meeting put forward a number of advanced proposals aimed at expanding ties between Uzbekistan and Korea in the economic, scientific, and educational spheres. In particular, attention was focused on integrating artificial intelligence and Korean digital technologies into key sectors of the national economy and public administration, as well as promoting innovative solutions in healthcare, transport, customs, and tourism.
Proposals were also discussed for the accelerated development of national payment systems and money transfer platforms, and for training specialists in information technology. Concrete initiatives were voiced to deepen cultural and humanitarian cooperation. These included expanding the network of Uzbekistan's cultural centers in Korea, developing Uzbek language learning programs, holding various cultural events in both countries, and translating samples of Uzbek classical literature into Korean.
The head of state expressed gratitude to compatriots for their significant contribution to the country's socio-economic development. Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that each of their initiatives would be thoroughly studied, and the most important projects would receive comprehensive practical support. The President wished professors, entrepreneurs, activists, and students who took part in the meeting success in their studies and professional careers.
The head of state noted that Uzbekistan is always open to dialogue with compatriots and ready to create the necessary conditions for realizing their creative potential. Meeting participants, in turn, expressed gratitude to the President for the attention shown to young people and the new opportunities being created to fulfill their aspirations. They stated their readiness to mobilize their knowledge and energy for the prosperity and development of Uzbekistan.
