Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. In the Kegayli district of Karakalpakstan, 50 families from the Social Register have been given the opportunity to grow agricultural products in greenhouses and eventually establish their own farms. The project participants will receive two years of training and have their produce purchased at market prices.
The President inspected the greenhouse complex, established on the initiative of the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction. A total of 12.5 billion soums in concessional funds were allocated for its creation, and the complex covers an area of five hectares.
Each family received 10 sotiks (0.1 hectares) of greenhouse space. An entrepreneur assigned to the project will not only provide participants with the necessary working conditions but also train them in modern greenhouse management methods. After two years of preparation, the families are expected to set up their own greenhouses on their household plots.
The entrepreneur is also obligated to purchase the grown products from the participants at market prices. Thus, the project provides not only job creation but also a sales mechanism.
The complex is also planned to train up to a thousand people annually in modern greenhouse and agricultural methods.
An additional source of income for the families will be duck breeding. A 350-meter canal near the complex holds 500 ducks, and each family received 10 breeding ducks of the "Favorit" breed imported from Brazil.
To reduce electricity costs, solar panels with a total capacity of 100 kilowatts have been installed on the territory of the complex. According to the presidential press service, the electricity they generate is sufficient for the daily needs of the greenhouse.
Recall that the poultry complex in Kegayli district has exported products worth more than one million dollars to Afghanistan since the beginning of the year and plans to increase this figure to one and a half million by the end of the year. The enterprise, covering 21 hectares, has created 70 permanent jobs and can simultaneously house up to 200,000 birds.
