Nigora Allambergenova, a teacher from Karakalpakstan, has become one of the winners of the republican "Teacher of the Year" contest and received $50,000. The educator from School No. 2 in Kanlykul district announced this during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to the region.

During the meeting with the head of state, she also noted that School No. 1 in Kanlykul district, which had been operating in a technical college building since 2019, was reconstructed this year by direct order of the president. This highlights the authorities' focus on improving educational infrastructure in remote areas.

The "Teacher of the Year" contest is being held in Uzbekistan for the first time, established on the initiative of the country's leadership. This year, more than 46,000 educators from across the republic participated in the professional competition. Such a wide turnout demonstrates the high interest of teachers in professional development and recognition.

Based on the selection results, 208 teachers became winners — one specialist from each district and city. Each of the best educators will receive a monetary award of 616 million soums, equivalent to 1,400 basic calculation units. However, some observers note that such generous bonuses may raise questions about budget spending priorities amid other social challenges.
