Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration, will speak on behalf of Uzbekistan during the general debate of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, which will be held in New York this year. This information was confirmed by Gazeta sources.

On September 21, within the framework of the session, Saida Mirziyoyeva met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres. The high-level week opens on September 22. During the meeting, the parties discussed all important areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN.

"We discussed all the important areas of cooperation that Uzbekistan and the UN are jointly developing," she wrote on her Telegram channel. She also expressed sincere gratitude to the UN Secretary-General.

"In the current difficult period for the system of international relations, I express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Guterres for demonstrating leadership potential on a global scale and supporting our country in all main aspects of security," added the head of the PA.

For reference, Saida Mirziyoyeva was photographed with the PA representative in the US, Komil Allamjonov, and Uzbekistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ulugbek Lapasov.

This year, about 130 heads of state and government will participate in the high-level week to address the world. The general debate will be held from Tuesday, September 22, to Saturday, September 26, as well as on Monday, September 28.

The theme of this year is "Rebuilding trust, managing change: a United Nations that works for everyone."

Last year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke at the debate of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. In March 2023, Saida Mirziyoyeva, who was then head of the Department for Communications and Information Policy of the Executive Office of the PA, spoke at the UN Water Conference. She presented the "Aral Culture Summit" project and shared the country's problems and achievements in the field of water resources management.
