In the Zangiota district of Tashkent region, three individuals were caught red-handed while receiving money from a businessman. According to law enforcement, they promised to help him secure four state contracts for the construction and reconstruction of kindergartens under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The total value of the contracts was 60 billion soums, and the suspects demanded $100,000 for their assistance. Investigators allege that the three gained the trust of a private company director, claiming they could resolve the matter through acquaintances in high positions.

They were detained while receiving $20,000 as an advance payment. A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 168 ("Fraud") and 211 ("Bribery") of Uzbekistan's Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, it was reported that in the Samarkand region, employees of the preschool and school education department are suspected of embezzling 1.1 billion soums of budget funds through the inflated purchase of liquid soap. This incident highlights persistent corruption issues in the education sector.
