A new checkpoint named "Keskanor" will be established on the border between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, twice the size of the existing "Dustlik" checkpoint. It is expected that after its launch, the volume of cargo transportation between the two countries will increase by two to three times, and border crossing time will be reduced by a week. This was announced at a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the socio-economic development of Andijan region, support for entrepreneurship, and increasing household incomes.

The creation of "Keskanor" is linked to the expansion of transport flows in the region. In particular, after the launch of the China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan railway, the volume of cargo transportation through Andijan region is planned to increase tenfold — up to 15 million tons per year. To serve the growing cargo flow, it is instructed to start a logistics complex project worth $600 million on an area of 300 hectares in Kurgan-tepe and Khanabad by the end of the year.

Furthermore, the design of a 78-kilometer toll road "Khanabad – Andijan" will begin. Another transport project will be the toll road "Tashkent – Andijan". Practical work on its construction is planned to start next year. Meanwhile, since September, a high-speed train "Tashkent – Andijan" has been launched. Travel time between the cities has been reduced from six to four hours.
