The Andijan Technopark in Khodjaabad district has launched production of smart water meters based on 5G technology. The presidential press service reported this. The head of state visited the technopark on September 23 during a trip to the region.

The $25 million enterprise was established in cooperation with China's Sanchuan company, entirely financed by foreign investment. The meters are produced in partnership with technology company Huawei. According to reports, 80% of production processes are robotized.

The smart meters enable real-time monitoring of water consumption and quality, as well as the technical condition of equipment. The enterprise has the capacity to produce 1 million meters of 15 types per year. They feature a design preventing water accumulation and a frost-resistant casing.

By 2030, it is planned to increase the level of production localization to 70%. To achieve this, the technopark intends to host enterprises producing components and spare parts.

The Andijan Technopark is established on an area of 100 hectares. The total volume of foreign investment in the industrial zone is estimated at $300 million. It is planned to place 51 enterprises here and create 3,000 jobs.

Once fully operational, the technopark is expected to produce more than 50 types of products worth $200 million annually. Its export potential is estimated at $50 million, and expected budget revenues at 160 billion soums per year.
