On September 30, Tashkent will host the second national conference on the Trans-Caspian transport corridor. The event will focus on investments in rail and road infrastructure, digitalization of transport documents, and simplification of border crossing procedures. This was announced by the press service of the European Union Delegation to Uzbekistan.

The conference is organized jointly by the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and the European Commission's Directorate-General for International Partnerships. Representatives of government agencies, international financial institutions, and transport and logistics companies are expected to attend. Participants will review priority projects for Uzbekistan along the Central Asia–Europe route.

In addition to road development and border procedures, the agenda includes issues of the logistics network, trade, digitalization of transport documents, and attracting private business. These initiatives aim to enhance the country's transit potential.

The conference is held within the framework of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor Coordination Platform, funded under the European Union's Global Gateway strategy. The platform brings together five Central Asian countries, the European Union, international financial institutions, and other partners to coordinate investments and reforms along the route. While this cooperation could strengthen regional trade and transport links, its actual results remain to be seen.
