A tragic incident occurred on August 28 in the city of Ahangaran, Tashkent region, at state preschool educational institution No. 6. A three-year-old kindergarten pupil died after drinking an insect control agent. The Tashkent regional department of preschool and school education reported the incident.

According to preliminary information, the child's grandmother worked at the kindergarten as a cook for an outsourcing organization. The incident happened when the child came to her in the kitchen. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances, including how the child entered the kitchen, why the dangerous substance was left within reach, and who was responsible for its storage.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, disinfection work had been carried out in the auxiliary rooms of the kindergarten the day before the incident. After the work was completed, the remaining mixture was not stored in accordance with established procedures. The child drank it, mistaking it for water.

The Ahangaran prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case against the disinfection worker under Part 3 of Article 116 of the Criminal Code. The preliminary investigation is ongoing, and a legal assessment of the actions of responsible persons will be given based on its results.

This tragedy raises serious concerns about safety compliance in preschool institutions and the storage of chemicals. It highlights the urgent need for strict control over children's access to hazardous materials and strict adherence to disinfection protocols.
