Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. The Committee for Competition Development has uncovered facts of unjustified charging of patients in medical institutions across Namangan, Samarkand, and Navoi regions. The total amount exceeded 200 million soums.

According to the committee's press service, the Namangan Regional Children's Multidisciplinary Medical Center charged 416 patients 34.3 million soums for ultrasound examinations without conducting comparative examinations.

In the Kattakurgan District Health Department of Samarkand region, during 2024–2025, almost 55.7 million soums were unjustifiably received from paid services due to inflated prices. In the branch of the Republican Center for Maternal and Child Health in Navoi region, over 2023–2025, nearly 35 million soums in excess payments were identified.

In all cases, special commissions have initiated proceedings against these institutions. Mandatory orders have been issued to revise tariffs and return almost 125 million soums to patients.

Earlier, it was reported that the Ministry of Health's tender for the purchase of medical equipment with an initial value of 14 billion soums was canceled after the Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection identified violations in its terms.
