The protracted conflict in Yemen has escalated sharply following a wave of missile and drone attacks attributed to Houthi fighters, targeting critical infrastructure in Saudi Arabia as well as the seat of the internationally recognized Yemeni government in Aden. The Yemeni Ministry of Transport denounced the latest assault, reporting that Aden International Airport was struck by two ballistic missiles, marking what officials described as the fourth such attack within a single month.

According to ministry statements, the persistent targeting of civilian aviation infrastructure poses a severe threat to regional safety and inflicts deepening humanitarian and economic hardships on the civilian population. Local authorities confirmed that additional strikes impacted the coastguard headquarters and administrative facilities within the strategic port city.

Meanwhile, the civil defense authority in Saudi Arabia reported the interception of two ballistic missiles allegedly launched toward the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, warning the public of falling debris. In contrast, Houthi representatives dismissed accusations regarding the sacred sites as fabrications, insisting their operations were aimed exclusively at Saudi airports, oil facilities, and military installations.

Heavy fighting continues along multiple front lines across Yemen as government forces attempt to regain lost territory. While the military claimed to have neutralized hundreds of combatants in recent operations, independent verification of these casualty figures remains unavailable amidst the ongoing security vacuum.
