Uzbekistan national team head coach Fabio Cannavaro has stated that he is generally pleased with his team's performance despite suffering a 0:2 defeat in an away friendly match against South Korea. The Italian specialist emphasized that while the final scoreline was disappointing, the overall quality of play and the competitive spirit shown by the players met his expectations.

Elaborating on the tactical aspects of the match, Cannavaro noted that the team created numerous scoring opportunities throughout both halves and limited the opponent's dangerous attacks to a minimum. He pointed out that against such a formidable opponent, fine margins dictate the outcome, and unexploited chances—often thwarted by crucial saves from the opposing goalkeeper—prevented a more favorable result.

Furthermore, Cannavaro addressed the ongoing generational transition within the squad following the World Cup. He explained that the coaching staff initially chose to maintain stability by preserving the core built by the previous management. However, supported by the Uzbekistan Football Association's investments in youth infrastructure, a systematic rejuvenation process is now well underway to integrate younger prospects.
