Earlier, the public was shaken by a major high-profile case involving the toxic 'Dok-1 Max' syrup, the consumption of which tragically led to the deaths of 68 children. The head of the importing organization and the former director of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency received heavy prison sentences ranging from 18 to 20 years following court rulings that underscored severe regulatory failures.
Based on judicial enforcement documents, ongoing legal proceedings are currently underway to recover damages totaling 78 billion soms from the primary debtor, S. Kariyev, and other convicted individuals in favor of 85 affected citizens. The financial restitution mechanism aims to address the immense material and moral losses suffered by the families, though the process has faced significant public scrutiny and administrative hurdles.
Recently, various social media platforms began circulating unverified claims and reports alleging that compensation payments to the victims were allegedly being delayed or withheld entirely. In response to mounting public concern, the Compulsory Enforcement Bureau (MIB) issued a formal statement clarifying the status of the asset recovery efforts, insisting that enforcement actions remain active and unyielding.
According to the MIB, authorities have placed legal attachments and seizures on real estate assets belonging to S. Kariyev, including residential properties located in the Chilanzar district and a non-residential building on Furkat Street in the Beshyagach neighborhood. These properties were subsequently listed on online auction platforms to generate funds for the victims' families, reflecting the state's attempt to liquidate assets.
Authorities confirmed that the non-residential property on Furkat Street was successfully auctioned off for 793 million soms, while competitive bidding for the residential buildings in Chilanzar, initially valued at 7.1 billion soms, remains ongoing. Through auction proceeds and funds contributed by Kariyev's family members, a cumulative total of 16.7 billion soms has been successfully transferred to the claimants in equal shares. Meanwhile, enforcement actions to recover the remaining 61.3 billion soms in damages are still proceeding.
