A notable administrative reshuffle has taken place in the Khorezm region of Uzbekistan, resulting in the departure of Siroj Bekchanov from his post as deputy governor responsible for construction, barrier-free environment, communications, utilities, ecology, and landscaping.

According to the regional administration's press service, Muzaffar Qalandarov has been officially appointed to fill the vacant position, stepping into the role previously held by Bekchanov since 2023.

Born in 1980 in the Khazarasp district of the Khorezm region, Qalandarov graduated from Urgench State University in 2002, acquiring a background that has heavily supported his career trajectory in regional infrastructure and civil engineering.

Throughout his extensive professional career, Qalandarov has held various managerial positions within the road maintenance and construction sectors. He previously served as the chief engineer at 'Khorazmavtoyul' and headed the 'Azamat Khorazm Makhsus Qurilish' limited liability company. Furthermore, he gained prior administrative experience working as the deputy governor of the Bagat district overseeing construction matters.

Prior to his current appointment, Qalandarov had been serving as the head of the main department of construction and housing-communal services for the Khorezm region since 2024. Local observers note that this transition aims to restructure regional development efforts amid ongoing infrastructure challenges.
