The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan held a dedicated high-level meeting led by Interior Minister Aziz Tashpulatov to address the escalating challenges of cybersecurity and the prevention of digital crimes across the country. The session focused on evaluating current preventative frameworks and assessing the efficacy of recent law enforcement interventions.

Officials reported that through the implementation of a specialized tracking system developed jointly with the Central Bank, authorities managed to intercept and block the illicit withdrawal of over 77.3 billion soms during the first nine months of the year. Additionally, more than 43,000 bank cards linked to illicit activities were successfully frozen to safeguard citizens' assets.

Statistical disclosures during the meeting indicated that a total of 17,483 cybercrimes were solved during the reporting period, with 5,600 cases proactively uncovered by law enforcement personnel. Financial restitution exceeding 209.9 billion soms was reportedly secured and returned to more than 19,000 affected individuals.

Despite these reported achievements, the leadership issued sharp criticism regarding inadequate cybersecurity organization in Tashkent city, as well as the Tashkent, Andijan, Bukhara, and Samarkand regions. Authorities stressed the urgent need to address localized shortcomings, enforce stricter accountability among regional leadership, and ramp up public awareness campaigns to counter digital fraud.
