Another concerning traffic incident has been recorded in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of the capital, highlighting ongoing safety issues on local roads. According to official reports, a modern GAC Aion vehicle struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the street via a designated and supposedly regulated pedestrian crossing. The victim sustained injuries and had to be rushed to a hospital following initial medical assistance at the scene.
Data released by the Road Safety Department of the Tashkent Main Internal Affairs Directorate indicates that the collision occurred on October 13 at approximately 19:00 hours. The accident took place on Mirzo-Ulugbek Street, right in front of the busy 'Ecobazaar' marketplace, an area that typically experiences heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
Authorities reportedly found that the vehicle was being driven by an inexperienced young driver identified as M.A., born in 2005. The involvement of very young drivers in high-speed urban accidents continues to raise serious concerns regarding road discipline and the enforcement of traffic safety standards within the region.
Law enforcement agencies have initiated an investigation to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the crash. However, official statements noticeably omitted crucial details, such as the exact age and medical condition of the victim, as well as the operational status of the traffic light at the precise moment of the impact.
