Law enforcement authorities in the Namangan region have apprehended an irrigation department official and an accomplice while they were allegedly receiving a substantial bribe for the illegal acquisition of land. According to the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, the operation was carried out jointly with other regional security structures.

During the joint sting operation, an employee of the Naryn-Syrdarya Irrigation Systems Basin Administration, identified as Kh.D., along with a citizen B.A., were caught red-handed. Investigators claim the suspects conspired to exploit their positions and connections to deceive local residents.

The individuals supposedly promised a citizen, M.E., to officially register a 40-sotix land plot in the Mingbulak district without holding the mandatory public auctions. In exchange for this unauthorized service, they demanded 11,500 US dollars, during the receipt of which they were intercepted. A criminal case has been initiated, and further investigative procedures are currently underway.
