A court in the Khorezm region has handed down a lengthy prison sentence to a local resident found guilty of murdering a former classmate and attempting to take the life of another individual. This violent incident highlights the severe dangers of unmanaged domestic disputes and aggressive behavior escalating into fatal tragedies over trivial matters within local communities.

According to the official case files, the tragic events unfolded on April 9, 2026, at the Guzar teahouse located in the Khanka district. The confrontation was reportedly triggered by a routine phone call when one of the patrons invited the defendant's mother to join their gathering. The son allegedly perceived this polite or casual invitation as a grave insult to his family honor, prompting an immediate and hostile verbal altercation.

The situation rapidly deteriorated from a verbal spat into physical violence, with the enraged suspect returning to the establishment twice. During his second visit, he allegedly carried a kitchen knife purchased along the way, leading to a fatal outcome when he stabbed a peacemaker in the chest and assaulted another participant with the weapon's handle before bystanders intervened.

Throughout the trial, the defendant claimed he had no intention of killing anyone and allegedly only acquired the weapon to frighten his former classmates, requesting a lesser charge based on emotional distress. However, the court dismissed these arguments, delivering a 16-year prison sentence in a general regime penal colony for premeditated murder and attempted murder.
